MENTAL HEALTH (CHILD & ADOLESCENT) PROVIDER WAITING LIST
For the Week of August 24, 2015.

The Mental Health Network of Lorain County shows these conditions to exist at the following provider agencies: The following agencies report that they have no more than a fourteen day wait for these respective services:

  • Mental Health Counseling Appointments for Children & Adolescents: Bellefaire JCB, Pathways, Beech Brook, and Firelands Counseling*. ** Call Firelands on the morning of the day you would like an assessment to begin services.
  • Intensive Home-Based Treatment for Children & Adolescents (for youth who need intense stabilization for mental health symptoms) : Beech Brook and Bellefaire report the shortest wait
  • Other Intensive Services Available for Youth Firelands Counseling reports availability of CPST. OhioGuidestone reports availability of Functional Family Therapy, an intensive family-based model for youth with severe acting out behaviors. The Nord Center reports availability of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This service is appropriate for adolescents with self-harming behaviors, The Nord Center reports availability of Anger Management Groups for Adolescents, and Firelands Counseling report availability of IFAST services for youth who have intensive mental health needs and comorbid substance use.
  • Pharmacological Management Appointments for Children & Adolescents: There is a system-wide wait with Firelands and Applewood reporting the shortest wait at 28 days.

  • Other Service-Related Information:
Nord Center provides Same Day Access Services, Tuesday thru Friday. Potential clients should arrive by 9:00am the day they would like to begin services, and will be given the earliest available appointment. Call 440-233-7232

Firelands Counseling reports availability of IFAST. This program is appropriate for youth with mental health AND co-occurring substance abuse symptoms. Call (440) 984-3882

Firelands Counseling reports same day appointments. Potential clients interested in a Mental Health Assessment should call Firelands 440-984-3882 in the morning on the date that they would like to be seen.

OhioGuidestone reports availability for early childhood intervention services, appropriate for children under five who have experienced trauma or have social or emotional issues that diverge from what is developmentally appropriate. All early childhood intervention services require regular participation of the parent or guardian. Call 260-8300.

* Indicates that SPANISH SPEAKING PROVIDERS ARE AVAILABLE. (Nord Center offers bilingual psychiatry through the use of an interpreter. Firelands offers bilingual services through a bilingual clinician.)

Services are offered in their offices at 347 Midway Blvd., Suite 200, Elyria, OH. Services are also offered at the client’s home and within the community as well as within schools.

YOUTH SERVICES:

Mental Health Assessment, Outpatient Counseling, Pharmacological Management, CPST, Psychological Testing, Intensive Home Based Treatment, Lorain Substance Abuse/Mental Health Treatment (LSA/MH) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and Mental Health Prevention groups are offered for children and their caregivers.
