They
offer non-judgmental, confidential,
safe, and friendly environment where
people can socialize and overcome the
isolation of mental illness. Most of all
they offer their support.
Peer support allows us to be responsible
and accountable to other members and
to ourselves. Gathering Hope House is
a place where members have a choice
of activities and allows opportunities
for making connections to other people
who may become a friend or a support.
Volunteerism and self- help also
encourages independence amongst
peers who make it possible to support
each other by sharing similar issues and
experiences and also gives many a
purpose, and/or skills necessary to
return to school or work.
The focus of peer support and
volunteerism has further added to an
already full array of education and
support services including a consumer operated
Comfortline (440) 233-

County residents with a mental illness.
The warm-line is available Monday
through Friday from 8am-12am and
Saturday and Sundays 1-5pm and 9-12
